This article discusses the importance of building up a socialist value in the new period, based on ＂Eight Honors, Eight Disgraces＂ raised, by General Secretary Hu Jintao. Socialist value is the important embodiment of a proper world view, philosophy of life and value. It is demanded to carry out the scientific view of development, construct a harmonious socialist society, and form a good social mood.
