Makurakotoba is a rhetoric method that appeared in the collection of Manyo firstly. Every collection of Japanese verse has involved in it. It is a important rhetoric method no more than honkatori and jokotoba. If we understand its meanings that it wants to express, we can better comprehend the spiritual state that the Japanese verse gives us.
