The current situation of substation informationization is introduced, the detailed analyses on the necessity and possibility of the construction of comprehensive management information system for substation are carried out, the information management mode of the client/the server based on local area network and the structure mode of integrated application architecture are studied, and the composition of comprehensive management information system is discussed.
