Where Is the Essence of Modernization?——Comments on Two New Stations in Nanjing and Yangzhou

借车站阐析任一功能类型的建筑既有自己特殊的、又寓有一般的发展规律,一如生物的进化演变轨迹。从其中认识建筑的主导法则与灵魂:是人及其便捷、舒适、安全(这里人指大众)的要求与趋向完善。而部分海外建筑师因无知或蓄意违背这一规律性,在中国弄出伪劣现代化建筑,其得逞原因之一是形式主义流行,然而又不止于此。

This paper taking advantage of the station to clarify that any construction of different functions have both typical and general rules ot development, like the evolution trace of an organism. From which we can understand the leading principle and soul of architecture： they are human and the request of convenience, comfort, safety as well as the trend of perfection However, part of oversea architects violates this regularity deliberately or innocently, which causes the spuriousmodern architecture in China. One reason is the popularity of formalism, but not limited to this .
