摘要
本文从定义装饰入手,在论述装饰时,提出了装饰在设计中的“重要地位”的论点,论证了装饰是人类历史上最早的设计形态,最早的装饰已经孕育了有关设计艺术本质的基本元素；接着阐明了现代设计艺术家们都从装饰中吸取营养；装饰的内涵和外延较之其它艺术更为庞杂和宽泛；装饰在设计艺术中的重要地位在当代越来越凸显又从装饰越趋成熟、表现手段的多样化、描写对象的广泛化、材料运用领域的无限化上进行了论证。
In this paper, decoration is revealed as all early form of design, for early decoration breeds some basic elements of the art of design. Decoration has comparatively broader connotations and denotations. Modem designers are seeking inspirations from decoration, which ensures decoration an impoltant status in the art of design.
