中国卫星通信集团公司（以下简称中国卫通）是根据国务院电信体制改革的总体部署，于2001年12月19日正式挂牌成立的国有大型骨干企业，是我国六大基础电信运营企业之一。中国卫通下设30个省级分公司和17个全资、控股、参股企业。作为我国卫星通信广播电视运营的主导企业，中国卫通以保障国家卫星通信广播安全、服务国民经济和社会发展为己任，不断以特色化通信保障国家信息网络安全，服务信息社会。特别是在卫星广播电视传输、应急指挥调度通信等特殊领域和边远农村、海上通信、自然灾害、突发事件等特殊区域，发挥了不可替代的作用，在为缩小数字鸿沟助力，构建和谐信，勘±会的进程中做出了重要贡献。

China Satellite Communication Group Company （hereinafter referred to as China Satcom） is a major nationally owned enterprise formed under the guidance of the overall plan for telecommunications system reform published by the State Council. The company, one of the six major basic telecommunication operators in China, was formally founded on December 19th 2001. China Satcom has 30 provincial branches as well as 17 other company that China Satcom either wholy owns or holds majority or minority interests in. As the major operator of satellite communication and broadcasting in China, China Satcom has the obligation of ensure the safety of the national satellite communication and broadcasting, serving the economy, and contribute to the development of the economy. Through its unique telecommunication services, China Satcom aims to ensure the safety of national information network and servicing the informational society. The company has made irreplaccable contribution in special areas such as satellite broadcasting television transmission and emergency coordination communication as well as special regions such as remote villages, marine communication, natural disasters and emergency events. The company also almost made important contributions to eliminate the digital difference urban and rural areas as well as to the process of building a harmonious informational society.
