Wal-Mart (China) Investment Co., Ltd. announced the establishment of the labor union of the headquarters in Shenzhen on 8 November. Up till now, the so called 'enemy of labor unions' by the media as well as the largest company in the world and the larg- est private employer in USA has set up labor unions in all of its 63 branches around China. Is Wal-Mart's model of establishing labor unions from the bottom of the company to the upper level a kind of innovation or just return to th e past? Will the 'p ractice' be changed from now on ?
