By thoroughly analyzing Sino-French joint delimitation of the Guangdong section in Sino-Vietnamese boundary, this article explores the concrete process of how this section of the boundary changed from traditional frontier to the treaty delimited one, and shows the original appearance of this section when it was delimited for the first time in the history .
