柳厚壁瘿叶蜂是发生在甘肃天水柳树上的中国新记录种，1年1代，以老熟幼虫在表土中结茧越冬，成虫于3月下旬羽化，产卵于芽尖叶片组织内，4月上旬幼虫危害并形成虫瘿，至11月下旬以老熟幼虫入土结茧越冬。幼虫期采用树干注射14％吡虫啉·敌敌畏液剂和30％敢敌畏·氧化乐果液剂，防效可达95．0％～91．2％。

The Pontania crussipes （Thomson, 1871 ） is a serious new pest of willow in Tianshui city, Gansu province, a newly recorded insect species in China; It has one generation a year and overwinters as mature larva in cocoon in the surface layer of the soil. The adults begin to emerge in the last ten days of March and lay eggs in the bud mesophyll of willow. The larva begin to damage the leaves of willow from early ten days of April and shape pest warts of ball. By the time of last ten days of November, the larva begins to overwinter as mature larva in cocoon. The damaged time is long and the trees of willow are damaged seriously in Tianshui city. In the larva period, the control effect is 95 % and 91.2% respectively with 14% Imidacloprid ＋ Dichlorvos liquid formulation and 30% DDVP ＋ Omethoate liquid formulation for trunk injection.
