This paper mainly discusses the acquisition of extreme meanings in degree complement through the collocation of the group of relevant phrases about ＂death＂. The acquisition of extreme meanings is resulted from the two leaps of the meanings of ＂death＂. Human＇s cognitive and the special meaning of ＂death＂ both contribute to the change.
