摘要
左手材料由前苏联科学家Veselago于上个世纪60年代首先从理论上提出,是指介电常数和磁导率同时为负值的材料。这种材料具有许多新奇的电磁特性。近年来由于在实验上取得了突破性的进展,这方面的研究引起了学术界的广泛兴趣。对微波频段左手材料的研究情况作了一个总体的回顾。首先介绍了左手材料的基本概念,左手材料在微波频段的实现方法。其次概括叙述了微波波段左手材料的研究进展。最后通过一些典型的实例介绍了左手材料在微波领域的应用。
Left-handed material (LHM) with simultaneously negative permittivity and permeability was firstly proposed theoretically by Veselago in 1968. It has been shown that such materials have lots of unique electromagnetic properties. So far, a lot of attention has been drawn to this area since some great progresses were made in the experimental study of LHM. This paper presents an overview on the recent research progress in the field of LHM. First, the concept of LHM and the methods to realize it in microwave frequency band are introduced. Next, the research progress of the LHM in microwave frequency band is presented. Finally, some typical examples are given to show the applications of the LHM in microwave engineering.
