A Tentative Analysis of the Theme of "Three Represents" Thought

“三个代表”重要思想的理论主题是建设中国特色社会主义。建设中国特色社会主义是一篇大文章,作好这篇大文章需要解决两大基本问题:一是“什么是社会主义、怎样建设社会主义”;二是“建设什么样的党、怎样建设党”。“三个代表”重要思想科学地回答了建设中国特色社会主义的两大基本问题。“三个代表”重要思想不仅是我们加强和改进党的建设的强大理论武器,而且也是推进中国特色社会主义自我完善和发展的强大理论武器。

The theme of ＂Three Represents＂ thought is to build sociaLism with Chinese characteristics. Building socialism with Chinese characteristics is an important project which needs to address two basic issues：First, ＂what is socialism and how to build socialism＂ ; Second,＂ what kind of party to build and how to build it＂. ＂Three Represents＂ thought scientifically answer the two major basic questions in the building of socialism with Chinese characteristics. ＂Three Represents＂ thought is a powerful theoretical weapon not only for strengthening and improving Party building,but also for the serf- improvement and development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
