Visual anthropology is a branch of anthropology that relies on visual means to transmit human culture. The application of visual means to anthropology was not so successful as we expected at its early stage. Film and television and the development of anthropology are interdependent. The author in this thesis explores how visual means contribute to the development of anthropology. The combination of visual means and anthropology opens up a new way for people to understand cultures and to communicate among peoples. In addition, the research on it is beneficial to the study of cultural pattern.
