摘要
以问卷方式对68名英语专业大学生和301名非英语专业大学生进行外语焦虑调查和研究,结果表明,无论对于英语专业学生还是非英语专业学生,外语焦虑和考试成绩之间都呈非常显著的负相关。就总体水平而言,非英语专业大学生的外语焦虑明显高于英语专业大学生的外语焦虑。非英语专业学生的焦虑主要体现为“口语焦虑”和“对英语课的消极态度”;英语专业学生则对“听力焦虑”的感受最为强烈。因此在寻求减轻外语焦虑的对策时,应该针对学生的专业特点区别对待。
A survey of foreign language anxiety is conducted to a sample of 68 English majors and 301 non-English majors. Both prove significant negative correlation between anxiety and foreign language achievements. On the whole, non-English majors score more highly in Horwitz' "Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale" than English majors. While non-Engl/sh majors' anxiety is largely speech anxiety and negative attitudes towards the English class, English majors are most anxious about listening. Therefore, students' majors should be taken into consideration in the search for anxiety-reduction strategies.
