英汉习语具有强烈的文化特征,习语翻译要处理好语言与文化的关系,不仅要译出原语习语的形象、喻义,还要译出其民族特色和地域色彩。从语用的角度出发,着重论述了英汉习语的翻译方法。

English and Chinese both have strong cultural features. In the process of translating idioms, relations between language and culture must be properly approached so as to interpret the original idioms＇ connotation and image as well as nationality and regional features. This article focuses on the approaches to translating English and Chinese idioms from pragmatic perspective.
