党的十六届六中全会对构建社会主义和谐社会作出了一系列重大部署，是我们当前和今后一段时期的工作纲领。构建社会主义和谐社会是一个不断化解社会矛盾的持续过程，协调利益化解矛盾重在机制建设。保险作为一种市场化的经济补偿机制、矛盾疏导机制、社会保障机制、社会管理机制、资金融通机制，与构建和谐社会建设的目标和任务具有内在一致性，在促进和谐社会建设过程中必将发挥出更大的作用。中国人寿作为我国最大的商业保险集团，在努力服务经济社会发展全局的过程中，“十五”期间实现了自身发展的一个重大跨越。构建社会主义和谐社会对中国人寿提出了更高的要求，同时也提供了更加广阔的发挥作用的空间。为此，必须深刻领会、贯彻落实十六届六中全会精神，紧紧抓住有利时机，在服务和谐社会构建中努力开创中国人寿跨越式发展的新局面。

The Sixth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of CPC has made a series of strategic deployments for building a socialist harmonious society, which is guideline for our current and future work. Building a socialist harmonious society is a continuous process of contradiction resolving, and mechanism construction is the emphasis of coordinating interests and resolving contradictions. As a market-oriented financial compensation mechanism, a contradiction resolving mechanism,a social protection mechanism, a social management mechanism and a financing mechanism, insurance is inherently consistent with the goals and tasks of constructing a harmonious society, and will play a much more important role in promoting harmonious society construction. China Life, the largest commercial insurance group in China, has achieved a leapfrogging development in the tenth five - year planning period in the process of serving economic and social development. Constructing a socialist harmonious society has a higher requirement for China Life, meanwhile also provides a much broader developmental space. It is necessary to deeply understand and carry out the spirits of the Sixth Plenary Session of the 16th Central Committee of CPC, seize beneficial opportunities, create a new leapfrogging development situation for China Life in the process of serving the construction of a harmonious society.
