On "Human-Oriented Concept" and Humanity

以人为本是科学发展观的本质与核心,是对马克思主义的人本思想的当代阐释。它把人放在一定的社会关系中,强调人是社会的主体,把人的生存和发展作为最高价值目标。它并不是向西方人本主义的回复,与人本主义有着本质的区别。以人为本的科学发展观是在总结中国社会主义实践经验的基础上提出的,与马克思主义关于人民是历史创造者的基本原理相一致。

Human-oriented concept is the nature and core of the scientific outlook of development, and explicates Marxist ＂human-oriented＂ ideas. It places man in certain social relations, emphasizes the subjectivity of the society, and takes human existence and development as the supreme target of value. It is different in nature from humanity in the west. The scientific outlook of development with ＂human-oriented＂ concept as the core was put forward on the basis of generalizing China＇s socialist practice, and is in compliance with Marxism that man creates history.
