摘要
“硬汉子”形象是海明威笔下人物的鲜明特色。同时,它也是海明威自己性格特征的体现。《老人与海》一书中精心刻画的“硬汉子”圣地亚哥这一形象正是海明威本人性格特征的真实再现。本文通过对主人公圣地亚哥的分析,探讨了海明威的性格特征。
The characters in all Hemingway＇s novels are unique in that they are ＂Tough Guys＂. These ＂Tough Guys＂ are the very presentation of Hemingway＇s own characteristics as well. ＂Tough guy＂ Santiago craftily created by Hemingway in The Old Mart and the Sea is the writer himself to some extent. By an analysis of the hero ＂Tough Guy＂ Santiago, this paper tentatively discussed the characteristics of Ernest Hemingway.
