英语语篇中代词回指的认知转喻研究

回指是指一个语言表达式用来指代同一篇章中另一个所表达的意义或事物。代词回指是回指的一种。现代认知语言学研究表明,人们用转喻进行说话和思维是我们日常经验的重要组成部分之一,因此我们就可以依靠转喻思维来解读语篇中的代词回指。本文将在简要概述关于代词回指研究的基础上,构建语篇转喻模型,来阐释英语语篇中的代词回指,以期帮助我们更好地构建语篇连贯。

Anaphora is a phenomenon in which a linguistic expression is always used to refer to another linguistic expression in the same text. Pronominal anaphora is one kind of anaphora. In cognitive linguistics, metonymy concepts are part of the ordinary, everyday way we think and act as well as talk, so we can apply metonymic thought to interpret anaphora in English texts. On the basis of the literature review of the researches on pronominal anaphora, we construct a textual model of metonymy to analyze pronominal anaphora in English texts, thus to help us reconstruct and comprehend textual coherence.
