荷兰商人资本是西欧中世纪以来商业资本体系中的集大成者,它的发展轨迹与热那亚、威尼斯、汉萨同盟等地商人资本的发展轨迹大致相同。从表面上看,它们的成功得益于转运贸易,它们的失败亦因转运贸易。然而,它们衰落的真正原因是资本自我扩张中所固有矛盾造成的。

Dutch merchant capital had been the best of the commercial capitalist system in Western Europe ever since the Middle Ages. Its path of development was the same as that of other areas of Western Europe, like Genoa, Venice, Hanso Ally and so on, On the surface level the reason of both their success and failure centered around transportation trade, but the true reason for its decline could be found in the inherent flaws of the self expansion of capitalization.
