The Textual Research of the Place Name Where Shun Lived as His Territory

虞舜在未被四岳向尧帝推荐之前,耕、陶、渔的具体地点在蒲坂(今山西蒲州)城北四十里处之诸冯、北陶城一带;在被四岳向尧帝推荐和尧二女(娥皇、女英)“嫔于虞”之后,虞舜耕、陶、渔的具体地点与活动中心,主要是在蒲坂城东南的历山脚下、黄河之滨、雷泽湖畔、妫水旁。在尧帝未迁都平阳(今临汾)之前的“妫汭舜都”在蒲坂城东南八里的“舜居妫汭”,即“九龙口”。

Yushun had lived at zhufeng north 40 li of puban before he was recommanded to Yao by four old virtuous men,after the recommandation and his mariage with Yao＇s two doughters,he lived by Wei and Nei rivers near Li mountain southeast of Puban;before Yao moved his capital to Pingyang,he livedin Jiulongkou southeast 8 li of Puban.
