Photovoltaic technology converts the sunlight directly into electricity without emit-ring any pollutants. It would help combat the global threat of climate change and improve thesecurity of the energy supply in China. This paper reviews the development of the solar photo-voltaic power market and technology, and also introduces the Building Integrated Photovoltaictechnology. The concept of ＂the China Solar Three Gorges Project＂ is raised, and the prospectof the photovohaic power in China is predicted in the end.
