广电运营商通过H．264双向机顶盒配合HFC网络的改造可以在基本的VOD业务形态上衍生出多种经营方式,如虚拟电视频道、时移电视、网络游戏等交互视频服务。与传统MPEG-2双向机顶盒相比,更能大幅节省运营商前端投入及网络频谱资源。
Comparing to the traditional MPEG -2 interactive STB, cable operators could deliver lots of valueadded services like virtual channel, time-shifted TV and net games into cable services after deploying H. 264 interactive STB. Using H. 264 format media for VOD, cable operator could also reduce the investment, save network spectrums, increase ARPU.
