深圳港口发展及其与周边港口的关系

The development of Shenzhen Port and its relationship with others

摘要 After more than twenty year’s development, Shenzhen Port terminalprovides 143 berths. In 2003, Shenzhen leaped to the 4th container port inthe world with its throughput of 10 million TEUs, arousing the attentionfrom both at home and abroad. Since 1979, Shenzhen Port has investedover 37.5 billion Yuan in the construction of port infrastructure facilities innice port areas, including Shekou, Chiwan, Mawan, Yantian, Dongjiaotou,Fuyong, Xiadong, Shayuchong and Neihe. It has 143 berths, among which57 are of 10,000dwt or above, 23 container berths. The annual handlingcapacity is 106.92 million tons, including 9.12 million TEUs (includingnon-professional container capacity), 5.5 million passenger-times. The totallength of the port’s coastline amounts to 22,149.7 meters. Shenzhen tookthe lead in importing the foreign capital to participate the development andoperation of the port, with several ways including exclusive investment,joint venture and share holdings. So far, the large port enterprises are allsino-foreign joint ventures, including Yantian International, Merchants PortService, Chiwan Port and Shipping, Haixin Port, Shekou Container, ChiwanContainer Terminal. The experiences tell us that the joint development andoperation of the terminals not only attract large funds but also inflow theadvanced management, experiences and experts, leading the enterpriseswith the operation of international, certain scale and mordernization underthe international norms, which is an important way for the quick growth ofShenzhen Port. With the upgraded international effects, Shenzhen Portpushes forward to the development of the national economy and has becomeone of the key basic industries of Shenzhen. As the container hub port inSouth China confirmed by the state, Shenzhen Port serves Pearl River Deltaareas, other regions of Guangdong Province and other provinces, makingimportant contribution to their open policy and extra-oriented economy.For all the above reasons, Shenzhen Port plays an important role, not onlyfor Shenzhen, but also for Guangdong Province, South China, Hongkongand international container transshipment. With the fast growth of the Port,Shenzhen Port will become the real container hub port of South China;moreover, with the mutual complementarity and promotion betweenShenzhen and Hongkong, the international shipping center in Asia will be formed.
