语用学理论指导下的《水浒传》人物话语分析——以林冲为例

Discourse Analysis of Heroes of the Marsh with Pragmatic Theories—A Case Study on the Utterances of Lin Chong

“官逼民反”是《水浒传》作品主题之一,而林冲则是“官逼民反”的一个典型。文章用语用学理论中的合作原则和关联理论对林冲从出场到逼上梁山这一过程中的话语进行分析,表明林冲的话语生动地反映了他“委曲求全、随遇而安”的性格特征以及“官逼民反”的主题,从而以实例说明语用学理论指导文学作品解读是一种很有效的方法。

“ The decent people’s rebellion excited by harsh officialdom” is one of the themes of chinese classical works Heroes of the Marsh, and Lin Chong is a typical character of the decent people. With the pragmatic theories of Cooperative Principle and Relevance Theory, this paper analyses Lin Chong’s utterances from his appearing in the novel to his rebelling, to show how the utterances enrich the effect of expressions on Lin Chong’s character of submitting to the oppression and compromise for the sake of the normal life and the works’ theme of “the decent people's rebellion excited by harsh officialdom”. Through the case studies, the paper demonstrates the effective application of the pragmatic theories to literary appreciation.
