This article summarizes the experience in operation and maintenance of steam reformer and its overhaul method. To well control the tube wall temperature of reformer, well adjust top spring hanger on the reformer tube and well control the flame from burner on the top of furnace is important during operation. The means of tube ?climbing ultrasonic detection, compound-film metallurgical phase photography and outer diameter measurement are used to detect residual life of reformer and coloring permeability method is used to check damage of pigtail and outlet manifold.
