Research on the Block-printing and Its Influence During the Five Dynasties and Ten States Period

五代十国时期是雕版印刷技术初步兴起、书籍从抄写文本过渡到印刷文本的承上启下时期,受雕版印刷技术推动和社会文化环境影响,五代书籍刊刻取得了相当成就,具体表现为官刻滥觞;刻书规模、种类及数量的发展;技术、人才、印刷物质资源的积累传承等,为后世书籍印刷事业的繁荣和发展奠定了基础。

Owning to the preliminary rising of block-printing technique, the Five Dynasties and Ten States became a connecting period between former ages and the following, during which books and records went through a transition from transcript to printing. Because of the promotion of block-printing technique and influence from social and cultural environment, book inscribing during this period got considerably great achievements. They were： the beginning of ofticial block-printing, the development of the scale, types and quantity of inscribed books, the spread of technique and the accumulation of technique, talents and printing material resources. All these achievements had not only latently prepared conditions but also laid a foundation for the flourish and development of book printing undertakings in later ages.
