A survey on fault diagnosis approaches of hybrid systems is provided. The background and the objective of hybrid system fault diagnosis problems are introduced firstly. Then, the state of fault diagnosis of hybrid systems is reviewed and the main ideas of the approaches are outlined. Finally, some typical application examples are presented and the problems to be further studied and the trends of developments in this field are also pointed out.
