LüFengzi and Chongqing National Art Institute

1940年7月,吕凤子接任在重庆的国立艺专校长。秉着大公无私的精神,他一切为学生设想,整顿教学秩序,改善办学条件;聘请名师,注重学科改革。在他主持的国立艺专,学术自由,容忍各种思潮的存在;为鼓励学生学习设立“吕凤子奖学金”。由于各种矛盾等原因,凤先生于1942年秋辞去了艺专校长一职。

In July of 1940, Lü Fengzi accepted the position of president of Chongqing National Art Institute. Being a magnanimous person, he gave his undivided attention to the needs of students. He improved the teaching facilities, invited well-known professionals to the institute, emphasized scientific studies, and founded the Chinese painting department. Under his leadership, Chongqing National Art Institute became a center for free academic thoughts where controversial ideas were tolerated and understood. Lü Fengzi Scholarship was created to encourage studies in the arts. In 1942, Lü resigned from the position of president due to various conflicts.
