Overview When the Philippines and China celebrated the thirtieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations last year, it was truly with great satisfaction that President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo and President Hu Jintao viewed the breadth and depth of bilateral ties and the remarkable progress achieved in several areas of cooperation. They agreed, with reason, that the relationship was entering a ＂golden age of partnership.＂
