摘要
顾颉刚先生一生有志于经学研究,推崇今文家的研究方法,又认同今文家的辨伪观点,主张古史研究以至于考古学、古文字学、社会史、民族学的研究都要由经学入手,所以虽然他不是经师,但确实是走了经学的路子。但"以今文打破古文、以古文打破今文"或"超今古文"之说,实际上是两难成立,在今古文两方面均少有创获,反而连经学原来据有的高度也难于保持,致使其学术境界下滑到了史料学的层面。
GuJieGang devored his all life to Confucianism research. He held in esteem for the research way of Sehololor in Jin Wen and also accepted the viewpoints of Schololor in Gu Wen in discerning the false from the genuine. He hold that the Ancient Chinese History research as well as the study of Archacology, Paleography, Ethnogeny should start from Confucianism. Though he was not a professional at Confucianism, he did lead his way to it. But the theories can not come into being both by "using modern prose against ancient prose or ancient prose against modern prose" and "beyond modern prose and ancient prose". With less originality, it was even harder to keep the former stage of Confucianism, instead, making his academy status decline to the Historiagraphy level.
