Objective: To study the influences of HBV infection on both biological behaviors of hepatocellular cancinoma (HCC) and expression of survivin protein. Methods: The infectious conditions of HBV were determined by serum tests for 61 cases of patients with hepatocellular cancinoma. Meanwhile, the expression of survivin protein in hepatocellular carcinoma tissues was detected by streptavidin-perosidase (S-P) method. Results: The expression rates was 69.23% (27/3) and 31.81% (7/22) in 39 cases with hepatocellular cancinoma infected by HBV and 22 cases without infected by HBV (P〈0.05). Among the patients with HCC, the states of HBV infection was high positively correlated with Edmondson grades, the elevation of serum α-fectoprotien (AFP), the formation of intraportal carcinoma embolism, intrahepatic metastasis, and elevation of serum γ-glutamyl transferase (P〈0.05). Conclusion: The both HBV infection and survivin protein may have cooperative effects for the occurrence and development of HCC.
