摘要
提出了一种新的彩色图像分割方法,该方法首先利用数学形态学在3个2维彩色子空间进行图像分割,然后将这些分割结果融合在一起得到最终图像的分割。对于RGB彩色图像,3个子空间分别取为RG、RB和GB。而2维直方图则可看作3维直方图在这3个子空间的投影,对这3个2维直方图分别实施形态学中的watershed分割算法,最后通过区域分裂与合并的方法融合这3个2维空间的图像分割结果,获得最终的图像分割。在计算彩色距离时,使用了CIE(L*a*b*)彩色空间。该方法比直接在3维空间的分割方法既快又节约内存,而且分割效果好。
A novel approach for color image segmentation is studied, which is based on segmentation of subsets of bands using mathematical morphology followed by the fusion of the resulted segmentation "channels". For color images the band subsets are chosen as the RG, RB and GB pairs, whose 2D histograms are processed as projections of a 3D histogram. The segmentation in 2D color spaces is obtained using the watershed algorithm. The final color image segmentations are combined by a region splitting-merging process. CIE (L ' a' b ' ) color space is employed to measure the color distance. The proposed approach results in improved performance and running time.
