Protection of New Varieties of Agricultural Plants Must be Carried Out

我国于1997年制定了《植物新品种保护条例》（以下简称（（条例》），1999年加入《国际植物新品种保护公约》（1978年文本），成为国际植物新品种保护联盟（以下简称UPOV）第39个成员。自建立植物新品种保护制度以来，在社会各界的共同努力下，我国农业植物新品种保护事业从无到有，取得了长足的发展。

In 1977, China formulated the Regulations on Protection of New Varieties of Plants, and in 1999 joined the International Convention for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants, thus becoming the 39th member of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants （UPOV）. Since the establishment of our system for protecting new varieties of plants, with the joint efforts of various circles of the society, our cause for protecting new varieties of plants, starting from very beginning and has seen great development.
