Jane suffers as an unsecured "Other" since infancy, but she refuses her fate and insists to keep her "Self". Her thorny pilgrimage ——Gateshead-Lowood-Thornfield-Moor House-Ferndean——reflects her desperate struggle for "Self". Her "Self" image burns with rebellious feminism. The "improbable" episode of the story discloses the most probable facts male dominance is the source of a feminist Other's dilemma.
