胡云翼认为女性词往往是“用白话来写温柔的女子的真性情”,其风格是婉约的,内容多是写闺情闺怨。他对女性词“温柔婉约”的风格阐释,对女性词固有提倡之功,却是片面的观点。

HU Yun- yi paid attention to women＇s Ci throughout his study of Ci. In his view, women＇s Ci is regarded as ＂always describing the real temper of the tenderwomen by using colloquialism＂, of which the style is graceful and restrained and the content is about women＇s emotion and the hidden bitterness. His study has the active effect on advocating the women＇s Ci, meanwhile, however, reflects his exparte viewpoint on the women＇s Ci.
