The Adaptation Theory and Pragmatic Translation

在概述语言适应论的基础上,从适应跨文化的语用翻译、适应意识突显性的语用翻译、适应语言结构的语用翻译等三个方面论述了适应论对语用翻译的应用价值。

Adaptation theory by Verschueren assumes language use as a continuous making of choice, which provides pragmatic translation a new perspective. Translation activity can be regarded as a continuous and complex making of choice and an adaptive process in the perspective of the theory. Based on the overview of Versehueren, this paper discusses the pragmatic value of the theory from three aspects ： intercultural adaptation, salient adaptation, linguistic adaptation.
