春一是利用国内外耐低温、适宜嫁接的新资源育成的早熟、优质、适宜早熟嫁接栽培的西瓜新品种,它克服了嫁接西瓜常见的皮厚、空心、畸形、品质差的缺陷。果实圆整,果皮底色深绿,条带细而清晰整齐,表皮光亮覆盖浓蜡粉;单果重7～8kg,中心可溶性固形物含量12%以上,边部9%以上,瓤色红,瓤质脆;皮厚0.8～1.0cm,耐贮运;商品性极好。从雌花开放到果实成熟约28d,植株伸蔓早,生长快,易坐果。抗病性强。适宜保护地嫁接栽培和小拱棚早熟栽培。

Chun No. 1, a new early hybrid watermelon with excellent quality is special for grafting and derived from new materials which were tolerant to low-temperature and adapted to grafting. Chun No. I can overcome the defects, such as thick rind ,hollow and abnormality generally caused by grafting. Globe fruit covered with wax is dark green rind with thin stripes. It is about 28 days from flowering to harvest. Plant grows fast at early stage and is easy to set fruit. The average fruit weight is about 7-8 kg. The central sugar content is above 12% ,while the sugar content at the side is above 9%. Bed flesh is crisp. Chun No.1 shows resistance to disease and has adapted well to long distance shipping, It is suitable to grow for grafting as well as for early harvest in the protected field.
