韩礼德建构系统功能语法的目的之一是要为语篇分析提供一个理论框架。系统功能语言学的一大原则是“选择就是意义”,“形式是意义的体现”。文章选取了一系列酒吧里面陌生男女之间“搭讪”与“拒绝”的英语对话作为语篇分析的材料,从系统功能语法的角度分析“搭讪”与“拒绝”的含义和语言纯理功能的关系,并尝试解释幽默、反讽的意义如何通过语言形式得以体现。
