英语谚语和汉语谚语大多来源于民间、古典文学作品和外来词,在起源方面非常相似,存在着对应现象,但由于两个国家的地理环境、群众的生活方式、历史及宗教的不同,也存在着半对应或不对应现象。

Most English and Chinese proverbs originate from the folk, classic works and translation loans from other languages. As they have a lot of similarities in sources, there are corresponding phenomena between English and Chinese proverbs. But owing to the differences in geographic environment, lifestyle, history and religions, there also exist semi -corresponding and non -corresponding phenomena.
