上帝是个黑女人——从《紫色》看艾丽丝·沃克的黑人妇女主义宗教观

God is a black woman: a study of Alice's view of religion based on the Purple

并不是盲目地遵从或选择反叛基督教的艾丽丝.沃克,通过小说人物的成长历程,对基督教、对上帝作出了浓墨重彩的沃克式的图解和阐释,不但颠覆了传统基督教关于上帝是个白种男人的观念,也颠覆了黑男人面对黑女人时自我赋予的上帝地位,大声喊出:上帝就是我自己,上帝是个黑女人!这一特具解放意义的宗教观是《紫色》中最重要的主题之一。

Instead of blindly believing or opposing Christianity, Alice, based on her understanding, presented a unique interpretation of Christianity and God via the growth of the novel＇s characters. She not only changed Christianity＇s concept that God is a white man, but also the position of the black men as God. Her voice that God is herself and God is a black woman represents a most liberal view of religion, thus the most imprtant theme of Purple.
