Bill of Lading （BL） is used most widely in international carriage of goods by sea. BL is not only the receipt which shows that the carrier has received the goods, but also the proof of carriage contract and real right. At the same time, BL owns some characteristics of Commercial Instrument Act with valuability, negotiability and formality. The risk of BL is here and there in international carriage of goods by sea, such as when the bill of lading is issued, and transferred, or the goods are delivered by bill of lading. Therefore, the relevant parties should be aware of the risks of BL and try to prevent risks happening.
