'Dear colleagues: Skyworth has now entered the 'post-boss' era, in which a management team made of modern entrepreneurs leads the forward development of a huge enterprise,' said Huang Hongsheng, Skyworth's chairman in his first letter to the Skyworth expanded board meeting. The letter was written on September 12th 2006 in Hong Kong Stanley Prison, where Huang has been jailed for two months. The story dates back to November 30th, 2004, when Zhang Xuebing, Skyworth's CEO was going to Hong Kong to attend the mid-year results news conference. He received a call from Hong Kong colleagues on the way, being informed that Skyworth's ten senior executives, including Huang, three executive directors and the CFO had been arrested by the Hong Kong ICAC (Independent Commission Against Corruption). Skyworth's stock had been suspended for trading and the news conference was cancelled. Astonished Zhang, together with his colleagues, immediately rushed to sort out measures to combat the following enterprise crisis. Now, the dangerous situation is over and Zhang and his colleagues are working towards the further development and expansion of the company. 'This is what I have been expecting. In the global enterprises' development history, many world-class companies have been developing successfully generation by generation. And this also bodes the bright prospect of the new emerging Chinese enterprises,' said Huang in his letter.
