Zhuang zi＇s roe image is difficult to understand due to the grotesque of his language and writing style. Researchers of past dynasties, from the viewpoint of the times, make their different annotations. And men of letters, also by using the past to convey the present emotions, have different re-creations of the image according to their personalities and life experiences, developing different aesthetic values and character meanings. This essay gives a historical survey of the above evolution.
