From mad bull disease, bird flu to incidents of golden apple snails, red yolk duck eggs, turbot fi sh, these news reports make people pay more close attention to the problem of food safety. Some relevant measures for the food safety were recently published by China’s relevant departments. It is believed that these new measures will effectively control chaos of the food safety, and in these government’s documents and files, adoption of technologies of automatic identification has become a centre of following the tracks of food origins, place of production, ingredients and safeguarding the food safety. Demands for the food safety by the public will become another focus concentrated on by the field of automatic identifi cation.
