摘要
目前在遥感图像压缩领域,应用最为广泛的是以SPIHT算法为代表的基于小波变换的压缩技术,但是遥感图像含有极为丰富的高频信息,而变换域压缩编码的压缩原理是保留低频信息删减高频信息,这种矛盾导致了变换域编码对遥感图像进行高倍率压缩时,图像会有较大失真。为了减小压缩过程中高频信息的失真,从对图像空间结构描述入手,提出了一个基于空域的图像压缩算法,并与SPIHT算法进行了对比试验,证明了该算法的压缩质量明显好于SPIHT算法,具有一定的应用前景。
Nowadays, wavelet based image compression algorithms are popular used in remote sensing image compression. The principle of wavelet based algorithms is to cut the high frequency information of image, therefore in the high compression ratio application, those methods may lose a lot of high frequency information of the remote sensing image. In order to reduce that distortion, a novel structure description based image compression algorithm was introduced, which had been proved to be superior to the SPIHT algorithm.
