The interpretation of Romeo and Juliet and its strategy in the context of China

透视《罗密欧与朱丽叶》在中国传播过程中的“中国阐释”的不同侧面,以此分析《罗密欧与朱丽叶》在中国的传播特点及批评者不同的阐释策略及主要倾向。认为在莎学研究中,中国批评者已经从最初的介绍,政治层面的解读发展为从人性、爱情与中国戏曲主题和艺术特点进行比较的多元化解读。

The interpretation of the theme of Romeo and Juliet is diverse. The debating centered on whether it is a social or moral tragedy, whether the play reflects the conflict between the ideal love of the humanists and the ideology of feudalism, or the wish that all lovers unite in wedlock, and etc. While surveying the spread of Romeo and Ju- liet in China, the present study analyses the critics＇ interpretation strategies and their tendency, and ends with a conclusion that Chinese critics＇ interpretations has gone beyond the Shakespearean study of the past and has formed unique opinions of their own.
