MacIntyre and the resurging of traditional ethics

麦金太尔认为现代西方道德生活和伦理理论处于深刻的危机中,要摆脱这个危机,就要向亚里士多德的传统德性理论回归。通过分析西方近代以来的道德哲学,可知近代的道德证明都是失败的,传统的德性理论有助于我们寻求道德的形而上依据。中西传统的道德哲学可说是异旨同归,都强调人对价值、对善的追求,强调人的道德生命,认为德性是人本性意义上的目的,追求最高的善和极至的美。

Maclntyre considers that modern ethics is in deep crisis, and back to Aristotle can help us to shake off the crisis. Through analyzing modem west ethics, we can see that modem morality testimonial was a failure; the traditional ethics can help mankind look for moral metaphysics. Although the specific thoughts of the west and Chinese traditional philosophy were different, their main aims were alike. The value, the goodness and moral life were emphasized by both of them. It is universally believed that good morality is man＇s natural aim, which is also the best and the most beautiful.
