菲律宾首都贫民区大火，5000人无家可归

Big fire in Manila made 5000 people homeless

（本刊讯）7月10日凌晨，菲律宾首都马尼拉北郊的一个贫民区发生火灾，由于当地房屋多为简易建筑，火势蔓延很快，目前已造成1人死亡、6人受伤、近5000人无家可归。事发现场烈焰熊熊，整个废墟的上空被黑烟笼罩着。发生火灾的地方是一个贫民区，排满了摇摇欲坠的房屋，极度挤迫、通道狭窄，消防车无法通过，消防员几经艰苦才到达火场。

In the early morning of July 10th, a fire happened in a slum district of Manila, the capital of Philippines. Because most of the local houses were shanties, the fire spread very fast, cansing 1 people dead, 6 injured and nearly 5000 homeless. The jam-packed tumbledown houses and narrow passages in the slum district made the rescue difficult. According to statistics, about 150-200 houses were totally burned by the big fire. Many victims of the fire were very worried because the fire made them lose all their properties. According to the police, now the cause of the fire was not clear and the investigation was continued.
