Freedonia alleges in the studies that the demand for fire retardant, the greatest sector of the market, will hopefully increase by 4.8% annually and reach 2-2 million tons by 2009 with a market value of 490 million U.S dollars. Such increase in demand is mainly propelled by the market development in the developing countries, especially in China and other Asian-Pacific regions.
